Site Suggestions Sought

Posted 2009-May-29

The floor (well, the comments section of this blog post) is open for suggestions on enhancing the PaintBook.ca site. I've got a few things in mind -- perhaps you'll tell me which ones are most important to you. Or if I'm missing something, you can fill me in on what's needed!

Anything else? And how important is it?

Thanks!

I'd like to have more texturizing tools and it would be nice to be able to keep the image from rotating as the iPad rotates. I like to be able to work upside down sometimes with details. I'd also like more demo videos on youtube or here as I'm very new to this medium.

I'll add that I'm glad I found this site and can view other people's work. This is helping me figure all what I can do with this app.

Hello,

Thanks for your work.

But the icons are not very beautiful and the page with the brush sizes too ! Very ugly (sorry).

It is very hard to have my pdf. More easy : to have it by mail !

Best regards from France.

You really need more brush tips and an on screen color picker! I am forever overwriting my colors. An airbrush, a crayon and a random brush texture would be great. Also, the ability to import photos or other drawings so we can do mash ups! This app is ok for pen and ink and tissue paper collage looks and pencil drawings but could be a lot more vesatile!

OMG! The star rating system would be amazing! That way people could leave their opinion on art while remaining anonymous. Artists would get so much more feedback! PLEASE DO IT!!!!

It would be helpful to *list* the artists you're following, instead of a follow feed, when you click on "Following" in a profile. That way you don't have to click through multiple pages of art by the same artist; you can more quickly find work by an artist you may not have discovered yet.

Hello

First, your app is the greatest drawing app on the Iphone. It' s a revolution ! Now i can make my illustrations everywhere and export to print in the newspaper where i work (this summer, i want to make a travel drawing trip only with your app and publish this in my columns).

My wishes for the future are:

- a redo bouton

- a possibility to edit the pdf directly on the iphone (erase, change colors and transparency) thanks a lot for your work. Pacoruiz

I've been doing some background work getting the system ready for public forums. Hopefully we'll have them soon. I didn't want to just paste in something like phpBB; I wanted a well integrated system, so it does take a little longer.

I think a public forum flexible enough to reference images or not would be nice. Personally, I'd like to have a place to share the link to the instructions I've used to make my stylus. A place to post tutorials and discus techniques might be useful too.
